2025 marks 35 years since PowTechnology was formed! It has been an era of incredible change and evolution. Powelectrics (PowTechnology) was founded as a sensor distributor into factory automation and process control, named after its founder, Henry Powell.
Over time, it evolved, making it easy for customers to connect data from sensors and machines to the cloud, using innovative technologies such as IIoT solutions to meet their needs.
2005 saw the introduction of the Metron telemetry devices, and 2011 saw the launch of the MetronView cloud.
In 2021, with 100,000 remote monitoring devices deployed globally, Powelectrics benefitted from a major investment by Quinn Venture Investments, with Peter Quinn and John Higham joining Dave Oakes on the board.
In 2022, Powelectrics became PowTechnology to better represent its capabilities as an organization, whilst maintaining the “POW” as a link to the company heritage.
PowTechnology continuously strengthens its brand and offering, including ISO9001/ISO27001 certification.
2025 has seen unprecedented growth from record enquires, sales and order book, to new applications, new sectors, new events, new awards and new talent across the organization. PowTechnology has delivered on its product roadmap, expanding its range of I4.0 solutions and helping customers drive efficiency, productivity and sustainability.
