What is your background (education, profession, etc.)?

I have a diploma in computer network and electrical instrumentation, as well as two years of experience as an instrumentation and calibration technician. Currently, I am working on part-time projects for various companies, and I am looking for an instrumentation technician role.

What drew you to the field of instrumentation, measurement, and control systems?

I was fascinated with understanding and optimizing complex processes and how seemingly disparate elements can be integrated to achieve specific goals.

What are some of the biggest challenges you face in instrumentation and control systems, and how do you address those challenges?

Choosing the wrong instrument can lead to inaccurate readings, reduced process efficiency, and even safety hazards. I address the issue by advising companies before buying the instrument, installing the correct instruments, and checking their accuracy.

Can you share an example of a particularly challenging project and how you and your team overcame those obstacles?

One challenging project I worked on involved installing a pressure transmitter. After installation, we checked the configuration, but sometimes the signals were not showing up. We began troubleshooting the system to identify the root cause of the issue. By systematically checking each component, we were able to resolve the problem and ensure the transmitter worked properly.

What are some of the latest technologies and innovations in measurement and instrumentation that you find particularly exciting?

Edge computing, edge sensors, wireless instruments, system design, and sonar flow meters are just a few of the advancements in instrumentation.

Is there anything else you would like to share about your work or the importance of measurement and instrumentation?

Measurement and instrumentation are crucial for informed decision making, process optimization, safety, and quality control across various industries, enabling accurate data collection and analysis for improved efficiency and reliability.
