Christian Borrmann – Brand Director

My history with KCI goes back quite a long way. From 2007 to 2015, I worked as Editor-in-Chief and Event Manager for the global brand Valve World. I had the privilege of organizing events in Europe, China and the US and being in contact with so many people who are passionate about their work and sharing their knowledge with the world. It has been a pleasure to build, expand and support a global community of valve and flow control professionals.

However, I was so intrigued by B2B marketing that after more than eight years I decided to leave KCI and switch entirely to marketing. This career change allowed me to not only understand, but actively participate in how companies present themselves as market leaders and how they work within and shape their respective industries. In the ten years that I was away from KCI, I worked as International Marketing Manager for a sensor manufacturer and then moved into the logistics industry where I worked as Marketing Director for a robotics company.

The central theme that runs through my entire professional life is relationships, building communities and networking with global contacts to achieve common goals. And because I like doing all of this, I’m excited to be working with KCI again on a new and exciting project about measurement, instrumentation and controls: Instrumetrics World!

Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I have always been surrounded by industry. This, combined with my educational background in literature and cultural studies, led me to KCI World. As an editor at KCI, I believe in the power of words to connect people across time and space. Our various distribution channels such as magazine, website and social media provide strong editorial content on end-user experiences and practical applications.
